Creative Juices are Flowing
Usually I'm the one who makes up a bedtime story for Liam, but last week, he created one for me. Here's Liam's bedtime story:
Once there was a dragon, and once there was a witch. When the dragon wasn't looking, the witch took a bite out of the dragon's tail and then ran away. Ouch, that really hurt the dragon. The dragon had a friend who was a fox. The fox and dragon decided that they were going to go hunt down the witch and make her pay for what she did. It's not nice to bite off someone's tail! Well, they found the witch, but instead of getting revenge, she captured the dragon and locked him in jail. Luckily, the dragon had a big pair of scissors with him and was able to cut through the bars and break free. Since the dragon played baseball for the Texas Rangers, he had a game to play, so off he went. (By the way, he did hit a home run that had the crowd cheering as he ran the bases.) Since the dragon was busy playing baseball, it was up to the fox to find the witch. He searched far and wide, until he finally found the witch on vacation at the beach. The fox grabbed her, threw her on a pirate ship, and she was thrown overboard and never seen again. The.End.

Celebrating Our Little Ladies
What a happy day it was on Thursday when we had a family birthday party for Marin and Ellery. Based on the amount of smiles between the two, I'd say they had a blast swimming, eating, blowing out candles, opening gifts, and, most of all, having the house filled with the people they love the very most.

2
Marin and Ellery are 2 today! Happy Birthday to our precious, sweet, loving, unique, beautiful, energetic, smiley, cuddly, funny, smart, and sometimes-even-a-little-naughty baby girls. They bring us such joy every single day, and God's abundant blessings are ever-present to us in their little lives.

Beaches and Ice Cream
On Thursday, we took a quick jaunt to Houston to celebrate little Miss Avonlea's birthday, and snuck in a side trip to Galveston on Friday because beaches are fun, and there's the best little confectionery and ice cream parlor called La King's on the Strand that should not be missed if one travels within a seventy-five mile radius of Galveston.
The kids didn't have swim suits, so we let them just go for it in their clothes. I missed the best shot of the day, though... A dripping-wet Liam walking back to the car in his Buzz Lightyear underwear waving an American flag. There was clearly no shame in his game. That's my boy.
