Here Come the Jamericans!

Our first stop was Jamaica.  We planned an excursion to a plantation that was located high in the mountains, an hour and a half drive by bus.
When we arrived our guide, Winston, was there to teach us all about farming in Jamaica.
Croydon is a working plantation that harvests coffee, honey, pineapple, bananas, mangoes, sugar cane, coconut, spices, and many other tropical fruits.  Here we are working to assist in the coffee making process.
And here are bananas fresh from the tree.
Along the way, we were able to sample the produce.  This is the pineapple tasting station.  Brilliant!  They all tasted a little different, but our favorite flavors were MD2 and Cheese.
Liam had a little fun smearing fruit on his lips just like our tour guide, Winston.
Nothing like running through sprinklers to cool down the kiddos.
And another tasting station--this one had fresh coconut, sugar cane, magic fruit, and other tropical fruits.
We ended our tour with a traditional Jamaican lunch (jerk chicken, beans, rice, and greens) at the plantation. And I need to add that it's quite possible that we witnessed a large transaction of drugs on our way back to the ship, as the driver needed to make a quick stop to pick up a large plastic bag that looked more than a little suspicious.  No problem, mon!

Night at the Dive-In

We love movies...especially when you can enjoy them on the deck of a cruise ship while sailing the high seas.

We just returned from seven days of wonderful on board the Carnival Magic.  We had an amazing time with our travel crew--Mom and Dad, Jamie and Patrick, and Debby and Jeff and all the littles--collecting happy memories, lots of laughs, and finding a state of complete relaxation along the way.  Let's go again soon!!!
