Little Smiles

Maybe the sweetest thing on the face of this earth are those first sweet smiles.

Announcing the Girls

I love Etsy. I spend way too much money on Etsy, but it's worth every penny.

This Morning...

On the first day of school, they somehow all ended up in our bed.

Summer Funshine

This summer Liam attended Funshine at the Park every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-2 at Plymouth Park Baptist. He loved it. It was basically a Mother's Day Out program for six weeks. They did such a terrific job. Each week there was a theme--western, patriotic, zoo, water fun, circus, and Hawaiian--and the activities centered around that theme. It was great for him to get out during the summer, make new friends, and participate in all the fun activities. Also, since Nana works upstairs, he loved stopping in her office for a Skittles break when Funshine was over each day.

Double Digits

The girls had their two-month check-up today, and they are both in the double digits now for weight. Ellery weighs 10.5 pounds, and Marin is an even 12 pounds. Marin is 23.5 inches in length, and Ellery is 22.5. The doctor said everything looks good, and proceeded to give them each three shots and an oral immunization. Poor babies. They cried like there was no tomorrow, but it must be done. We don't go back now until they are four months old.

Summer Photo Session

We took all three kiddos to have pictures taken today. It's a little more difficult to get the good shots when three babies have to cooperate, not just one! These are some of my favorites.

Rude Awakening

Jon and I officially started back to work this week, and let me just say, it was quite a rude awakening. After being on "bed rest" for the month of May, I got kind of used to lulling around the house. I think the mornings are going to be our biggest challenge. Getting three kids ready for daycare is quite a bit different than just one, but we made it. It will really require all hands on deck. Even Liam can be a little helper in the morning by helping Marin with her bow.

Wiggly Party!

Liam is one lucky boy. He had a double dose of his four favorite singers--The Wiggles--on Friday. Jon and I bought pre-sale tickets in May for the evening show, but then my friend Teri also gave us two tickets to the afternoon show. Liam loved it both times. He also had lots of fun hanging out with Owen in the afternoon. We went to the 2:30 show with Teri and Owen, and then when we got home, we turned around and went back for the 6:30 show with Daddy. Jon's parents came over and watched the girls. Just as we were getting to the theater, it started pouring, so not wanting to miss any of the show, we just made a run for it. I had an extra shirt for Liam, so he was okay, but Jon and I were pretty soaked. I took a lot of pictures because this is a pretty big deal for our little guy. He kept asking me, "Where's the t.v.?" I guess he thought they lived inside a television or something. Another memorable moment came during the afternoon when I looked down at Liam and noticed he was chewing gum. I immediately had him spit it out, and I asked him where he found it. He pointed to the cup holder in front of us, and I saw a gigantic wad of chewed gum someone was nice enough to leave a curious two year old. The best part of the day was watching Liam's looks of amazement that the Wiggles were actually live and in person and singing all his favorite songs. It was a pretty Wiggle-rific day.

Six and a Half Hours...

...of sleep, that is. That's right, the girls both slept for six and a half hours straight last night, and it felt sooooo good. We're really hoping this becomes a trend. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what tonight brings. Nonetheless, it was great reminder that the waking up every three to four hours to eat phase will soon be behind us.

Grandma

After a week and a half of cuddling babies, sing-alongs with Liam, (what feels like) constant bottle feedings, and train rides at the mall, Grandma had to go back to Minnesota today. When Liam got up from his nap the first thing he said to his Daddy was, "I want Grandma. Where'd Grandma go?" My Mom was such a big help, and it was great to have her here. We already miss her and she's only been gone for a few hours. Thanks, Mom, for all you do for us!
