Exploring Beautiful Charleston

What a fun day we had exploring Charleston with my brother and his family.  Our first stop was White Point Garden, the tip of the peninsula that overlooks the harbor.  From the garden you can also see Fort Sumter and Morris Island.  Liam was interested in the pirate history of the garden because it's also where "gentleman pirate" Stede Bonnet and his men were hanged and buried.
(Jon's pointing at Morris Island, the scene of the ill-fated assault by the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, an African-American regiment, immortalized in the film, Glory.
Next, we did some shopping at Charleston's City Market, and then it was time for lunch at a restaurant called Eli's Table.  It was delicious.  Then we were off to tour the Old Exchange Building and Provost Dungeon.
Our last stop was Waterfront Park before heading to dinner.  The kids had a blast playing with their cousin, Adam, at Chuck E. Cheese on our last night in Charleston.
After dinner, Nathan gave us a tour of his university--Charleston Southern.  We sure had a great time visiting Charleston and spending time with family.
