Baylor-riffic Weekend

This past weekend was Baylor Homecoming, and for us that means--Singspiration!  Bonfire!  Parade!  Football Game!  Mom and Dad flew down on Thursday, and we all met up with Debby, Jeff, Avonlea, and Patrick in Waco.

Here are some pics of past, future, and honorary Bears.  Sic 'Em!

Every Day Seems Like a Vacation

Maybe I should clarify this title by saying every day feels like we’re packing up for some sort of family road trip.  And it’s not a fun road trip.  We go to work.  Three kids mean lots of extra bodies and gear to haul every morning as we make the three mile journey to daycare.  We take eight bottles, pacifiers, a sippy cup, bibs, diapers, wipes, extra clothes, gas drops, daily schedule logs, and the list keeps going.  It seems like we should be gone for eight days instead of eight hours.  We’ve developed a pretty unyielding morning routine, but even after doing this for almost three months, there are still days we don’t remember everything.  (Like right now, I just remembered Liam forgot to take his vitamin this morning).   But I guess as long as we’re not forgetting a child, we’re okay.

Note:  This post could alternatively be titled, "18 Minutes."  That's how many minutes late I woke up this morning.  And, believe me, it wasn't pretty.  NOT PRETTY AT ALL.

An Evening in the Life

A typical evening in our household may include...

Finger-combing a little boy’s hair at the end of the day, and finding a small, crunchy spot of dried maple syrup the must have been hanging out there since breakfast.

Giving a baby a bath who has just discovered her arms, legs, feet, and hands, but isn’t quite sure how to control them and getting almost as wet as she is.

Being deep in conversation with another baby girl who is lounging on your lap and understanding every coo of it.

New, Different, and Better

One of my best friends gave me a card when the girls were born that said, "And just like that, everything is new, different, and better than you imagined."  I love that quote.  It's so true when I reflect over the past four months.  Things are new.  Things are different. Things are definitely better than we could ever imagine with our little girls who are four months old today.  We love you, sweet babies.

Speaking Liam 2.5

Liam is a big two and a half-year-old today.  He's officially at the age where how he says something is just as cute and amusing as what he says.

He puts on his swim toot when he jumps in the pool.
Hoss cream is yummy for dessert.
Bein' hav (a.k.a. behaving) is important.
Yum-yum helps Liam feel better if he's sick.
Big brother loves his widdle wadies.
"No, no poon.  Liam be good."
Clip clops are what he wears on his feet.
Making stuff with pray dough is lots of fun.
Mexican food can be a lil' picy.
Helipoppers fly in the sky

We wub you, Liam!

Little Pumpkins at the Arboretum

Columbus Day Weekend in Pictures

Marin and Liam watching Saturday morning cartoons.

Ellery cheering on the Bears during the game on Saturday afternoon.

Sisters

We had a giraffe sighting in the house.  Apparently giraffes like to watch Thomas the Tank Engine.

Why not include feet in the hand-washing process?

After a long day, Marin fell asleep in the Bumbo.

Yes, she really is asleep.

Time to clean up after a long weekend.
