Bushwar 2014 Year in Review

  • After teaching middle school art for 12 years, Jon graduated to high school.  He’s currently teaching Art I and Drawing at MacArthur High School, just two blocks from home.
  • Susan continues to teach special education to students who are homebound in Irving ISD.  Since turning 40 in April, she figures retirement is just around the corner…
  • Travel--June:  North Shore of Lake Superior with both sides of the family.  July:  Cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel with Susan’s family.
  • Love was in the air in June as Susan’s brother, Patrick, married his sweetheart, Jamie.  Marin and Ellery were both flowergirls, Liam performed duties of a ring-bearer, and Jon was a groomsman.
  • Vill, Liam’s beta fish was added to the household in January and is still alive!  Unfortunately, his first fish lasted less than 24 hours.  Vill seems to have what it takes to be a Bushwar.
  • Liam, 6
Besides being a busy 1st grader and baseball enthusiast, Liam’s gapped smile is proof that the tooth fairy has been working overtime at the Bushwar house this year.
  • Marin, 4
Spunky and sweet, Marin loves being Mama’s helper, reading books, gymnastics, playing with brother and sister, and participating in all forms of goofy behavior.
  • Ellery, 4
This little honey adores all things furry (dogs, cats, stuffed animals, etc.), puzzles, crafts, playing outside, and music.  Ellery is excited to begin dance lessons in the new year.

70 Years of Awesome

We celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday tonight with White Castles, penuche frosting, and two cakes.  He's the best Dad we could ever ask for and an overall kool kat.  So happy that Liam and I could sneak up to Minnesota to help him celebrate,  We love you, Dad!

The Stockings Were Hung...

Marin leaves Santa cookies on Christmas Eve

Christmas morning at our house was full of surprises from
Santa and opening presents from each other and our family
in Minnesota.  Ellery was the first one up and couldn't resist
the urge preview Santa's offerings.  Before jumping into bed
with us, the girls had already been downstairs to check out
their Christmas loot.   J'Animals, Power Ranger gear, games,
robot puppies, pogo sticks, and more light sabers were all
part of the wish list.
It was such a sweet, relaxing family time with our littles.

Christmas 2014

After going to church on Christmas Eve, we headed out to Jenni and Jeremy's house for dinner.  The kids had fun decorating cookies for Santa and making ornaments with Aunt Jenni.  Afterwards, it was time for pajamas before coming home to tuck three little Bushwars in bed so Santa could make his visit.
On Christmas Day, we enjoyed the afternoon at Nana and Papa's house.  We opened more presents and had a yummy lunch.
