Day Out with Thomas

On Saturday, Thomas the Tank Engine came to Grapevine.  Pretty big deal if you're a little boy who likes Thomas.  And Nana and Papa came, too, so that was made it especially fun.  And the weather was perfect.  It was quite an event, complete with bounce houses, live entertainment, a tattoo station (I guess you're never too young), and a petting zoo.
Here's Liam getting all tatted-up with Thomas and Percy ink.

Getting ready for Thomas to give us a ride.

All aboard!

Inside the boxcar.

Even though the girls weren't exactly into Thomas, it was a fun family activity!

Cowboy Up!

The Houston Rodeo part of our spring break really deserves its own post.  We had such a fun time, and Liam loved every second.  He was definitely in his glory.  The Quad Squad, our wonderful group of Houston baby whisperers, along with Grandma stayed home with the three little ladies, while Debby, Jeff, Jon, Liam, and I headed out to lasso us up some fun .  It was our first time there, and we soon discovered that it wasn't just a rodeo, it was an entire western experience .  Liam was captivated by the actual rodeo, but he also loved the petting zoo beforehand and feeding the animals.  So did Jon.  In fact, I do believe Jon enjoyed feeding the animals more than almost as much as  Liam.  We definitely want to go back again with our little buckaroo, and maybe next time his sisters will be big enough to come, too.

Debby and her turkey leg.

Jon and Liam feeding the sheep.

Very sweet animals to allow hundreds of people to get up close and personal.

I like this one.

Jeff found a friend, too.

Liam basically had this expression on his face the entire time we were in the stadium.

We may need to get him some cowboy boots.

This ain't our last rodeo!

Spring Break 2011

It was a good Spring Break.  My Mom flew down on Sunday night, and we were off to Houston the next morning to visit Debby, Jeff, and Avonlea.  We did lots of things--shopping trips, movies, the Houston Rodeo, celebrating Jon's birthday, picnics in the park--but the best part was just having the week to spend time with each other.

Liam loves his cousin

Happy Birthday, Jon!

Jon picked Freebirds for his birthday dinner.

Liam gave Jon a kite for his birthday.  Liam pick out Daddy's birthday gift all by himself.  It was between a butterfly kite and an airplane kite.  The butterfly won.

The Crain Clan

A perfect day for a picnic in the park.

The girls spent lots of time in the "romper room" playing with Grandma and their cousin on the floor.

Nine Months

Our sweet baby girls are nine months old today.

Marin has started pulling-up this month.  Her favorite food is oatmeal with apple sauce, and she proudly sports two bottom teeth.

Ellery has perfected her patty-cake.  She giggles at her brother and is fascinated by the t.v.
Ellery is a power sleeper, and bath time is her favorite time of the day.  She's a happy camper when she's eating peaches.
Marin waves bye-bye and still our smiley baby.

Happy Jon Day!

To the man who wakes up at five to feed babies,
Who mows the lawn on bad allergy days,
Who keeps 175 middle schoolers in line every day,
Who reads stories and plays guessing games before bed,
Who unloads diswashers and dryers,
And kisses everyone in the house good night.

Happy Birthday, Jon!  We love, love, love, love, love you!

Hello, Spring Break!

We had a domino-effect wake-up this morning, first Marin, then Liam, and finally, Ellery.  Jon and I gained consciousness somewhere in the middle.  Somehow, the kids all ended up in our bed, which really is a nice way start the day.  Anyway, as the kids were crawling all over us (and each other), Jon said, "Hey, wouldn't it be crazy if I could actually fall asleep with all three of them in here with us?"  I agreed it would be pretty impossible.  But, guess what?  He did.  That's my Jon!

How I Roll

When I'm out and about with all the kids in tow with no Jon around, which isn't very often, this is how it's done.
And, YES, I do know how crazy this could appear to the average person passing by.  Outrageous, really, but what's a girl to do?

My days of traveling light are definitely over!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub...

...three men babies in a tub.  We tried it this way tonight.  Just doing our part to conserve time water.

We're environmentally responsible like that.
