National parks offer kids the chance to become "Junior Rangers," and Yellowstone offers the best of that program. Since I had done some research beforehand and had talked to Liam about it, one of our first stops when we arrived at the park was enroll him in the program. He loved it, and he actually had to do a bit of work like going to a ranger talk, walking certain hikes, finding different wildlife and elements in nature, taking a pledge, and completing workbook pages about the park to earn his Junior Ranger patch. The evening before we left, he proudly became a Junior Ranger. :)
