We had a pretty big week around here--our little guy graduated from kindergarten!
Mrs. Hoang is an incredible teacher. She has instilled the love of learning into these little minds, and even more importantly, has saturated their hearts with the love of Jesus. They've memorized a Bible verse for each letter of the alphabet, Psalm 100, and Psalm 23.
Liam kicked off the program by stating, "Good evening! We would like to thank all of you for coming to our graduation program. Each morning at school we have the pledge, sing 'My Country Tis of Thee,' and pray The Lord's Prayer. We would like to ask all of you to join us as we start our program in the same way. Shall we stand?"
He also helped with the calendar and was one of the blend children.
Liam's final speaking role was to recite The Little Turtle by Vachel Lindsay--
I had a little turtle
Who lived in a box;
He swam in a puddle;
He climbed on a rock.
He snapped at a mosquito;
He snapped at a flea;
He snapped at a minnow;
And he snapped at me.
He caught the mosquito;
He caught the flea;
He caught the minnow;
But he didn't catch me.
Because his performance in the class play last year was
gut-wrenching a little rocky
(Click here for details),
we I had about 20 million butterflies fluttering in my stomach before the program began. Liam did great! Actually, the entire class of 2014 put on a pretty fabulous performance that lasted well over an hour. Kindergarten has been such an incredible experience for Liam. He loves school, his teachers, and his friends. We couldn't ask for a better place for our kiddos than the Sloan School.
Here they are--the Class of 2014...and eventually, 2026. Congratulations, Kinder Kingdom!
