I had to work this morning, so Liam and Jon had a little father/son outing. It involved buying a hockey stick and puck, getting an oil change in Jon's car, and eating lunch at Long John Silver's.

Sesame Street Live
We took Liam to Sesame Street Live tonight at the Nokia Theater, and he loved it. We weren't sure if he would make it the entire time, since it started at 7:00, and that's usually his bedtime. He fought through the yawns, refusing to surrender to sleep until Elmo and his friends left the stage. I even made him a shirt to wear, but don't look too closely because the stitching leaves much to be desired. Anyway, Liam sang. Liam danced. Liam was captivated the entire time. Ahhh...the power of Elmo. It was totally worth putting up with badly-behaved, pushy parents and getting whacked in the head several times by the unsupervised children sitting in back of us to see Liam's happy face during the show.
Chuga, Chuga...Choo, Choo!
Liam is fascinated with any form of transportation these day—buses, trains, fire trucks, motorcycles. If it moves, he loves it. Last week when we were at Grapevine Mills Mall, Jon took him for a ride on the train that goes around the mall. At first he seemed a little freaked out, but in the end, he had fun riding the train with his daddy.

Kimball Fun
Jon was busy judging a regional art competition all day today, so Liam and I had our own art fun with the Daultons at the Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth. They had family fun day activities going on today, so Owen and Liam were able to try their tiny hands at creating fine pieces of art. They weren't really into that so much, but they did like to run around outside. I guess the masterpieces will have to wait until next time.

Brassy Jon
I'll bet you didn't know that Jon plays the trombone? Well, me either. And guess what? He doesn't. Although in the following pictures, he's playing in front of a crowd of middle school students, teachers, and their parents. That's right...Jon participated in the Crockett Middle School talent show tonight. With a handful of other teachers, they rocked the gym house with the classic hit, We Will Rock You. Liam and I cheered from the bleachers as Jon gave it his all and made us proud.

Snowy Texas
Here's a view of our backyard.
It's been a pretty crazy winter here in Texas. Although we usually get a little snow and ice every winter, this year has been the granddaddy of them all. On Thursday we woke up to a layer of snow and slush, and it kept falling all day and all night. My Aunt Peggy from Minnesota came in to visit just in time to see almost a foot of snow hit the ground...something that somebody from Minnesota doesn't want to see when headed south! Unfortunately, we lost electricity, so we had to head to a hotel for Friday and Saturday night. Jon's parents and grandparents also were left in the dark, so we all had a party at the hotel.

Head-Bangers
We went to the doctor on Monday anticipating the big gender reveal of both babies, but we didn’t find out a thing…except that our babies are already getting into mischief together. On the sonogram they were playfully bumping heads. Although we didn’t find out if they are girls, boys, or one of each, my doctor said that they look healthy, are growing well, and are already hitting each other.
