Sweet Lil' Valentine's

Lip-shaped whistles, cut-out cookies, sticky mustaches, glow sticks, little green aliens, and chocolates are the stars in this year's round of Valentine's.  I can't believe it, but I'm actually not burning the midnight oil this year to throw everything together.  (And I kind of like it.)  Here's a peek of what my littles will be passing out to their friends tomorrow.
Thanks to A Pretty Cool Life for the free alien Valentine pdf.
Thanks to Delia Creates for the free heart glow pdf.

You've Got Mail

On February 1, these three little mailboxes appeared in our den.  Since then, the kids have relentlessly monitored the activity of the flags, knowing that a treat awaits them when they are raised.  It's been a fun activity for our little Valentines.  They love it!  Here are some of the little treats that we've put in the mailboxes:
*chocolate coins
*love notes
*a trip to Chuck E. Cheese (a true gift of sacrifice)
*new bows (girls)
*gum (Liam)
*lip whistles
*candy
*glow sticks
*fortune cookies
*coupon for 15 minutes of iPad time before bed
*new cd's for bedtime
*conversation hearts
*stickers
*light-up bouncy balls
*new Valentine's plates

Blogs-->Print

My 2013 blog book came in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and I just now really had a chance to look through it.  It's my fifth book--I do one each year--and I love it.  Blogs to Print does such a terrific job transforming digital posts into hard copies of precious memories.

Celebrating Nana

I absolutely have the best mother-in-law around, so what a happy day it was today to be able to celebrate her.  Happy Birthday, Nana.  We love you!

100 Days

The Kindergarten Kingdom celebrated the 100th Day of School  today by dressing up like 100-year-olds, creating posters that contained 100 items (Liam picked golf pencils), and centering activities today around the number 100.  Liam had so much fun and loved Day 100 just as much as the past 99.

Vill's Big Day

So today we just did the usual stuff--church, t-ball practice, shopping, laundry, and, OH YEAH, a birthday party for Liam's pet fish, Vill.  Ever sing Happy Birthday to a beta?  Ever make a birthday banner for a fish?  Ever eat a cupcake for a little finned friend?  Well, we have.  And just in case you're wondering, Vill turned 11-years-old (per Liam), so technically, we now have a tween in the house.  Happy Birthday, Vill!

X-Ray Vision and Underwear. REALLY?!?

Yes, this really did happen after Liam and Grandpa visited a candy store on Monday afternoon.  X-ray vision glasses and underpants hard candy.  Totally inappropriate.  Totally hysterical to a 5-year-old and his grandpa.  Who should accept blame for this one?!?  I'd say BOTH!

Storming Campus

The Martin-Crain-Bushwar crew took Baylor by storm on Sunday afternoon. We kind of bring a rowdy party with us where ever we go.  We're loud.  Our kids run in circles and chase squirrels.  If there's a step, rock, or statue to climb, they gleefully accept the challenge.  But, as Debby reminded me, we were just giving all the current students who were trying to peacefully lounge in their hammocks or on blankets on patches of sunny grass a tiny glimpse into what life may look like for them post-college.
