Good Times Never Seemed So Good

My amazing, spectacular husband speaks my love language.  That would be Neil Diamond.  My birthday concert happened tonight, and it was all that I hoped it would be and more.  Thanks to the keen foresight of my parents, they made sure to instill within in their young children an appreciation for the Solitary Man.  Brilliant!

Here I am in my new t-shirt.  A DIAMOND IS FOREVER.
Trust me, this guy is excited to get his Neil Diamond groove on.
Part of the pre-concert fun was sending #tweetcaroline messages on Twitter.  Jon was a good sport and send this tweet--
And guess what?  We made it on the big screen at the American Airlines Center.
Thanks, JoBu for a super fun night out and a crazy cool birthday present.  Good times never seemed so good...so good...so good...

Following Jesus

We celebrated Liam's baptism yesterday as he publically declared his salvation on April 12. Although we believe that eternal security only comes by grace through faith and baptism is not regenerative, it was precious to see Liam declare his salvation though Christ and following in obedience through believers baptism.  Buried with Him in baptism; raised to walk in newness of life.

It's a Wrap!

Today was the kids' last day of school.  It's always a fun day with class picnics and bounce houses at Sloan School.  The rain held off long enough for everyone to eat a hot dog and try out the bounce houses.
And then after dinner tonight, we had a little End of the Year party at home with an ice cream cake and candles (because they must go together at our house).  It's been an amazing school year for our little loves.  We now officially have a second-grader and two kindergartners.

Awards Day

Liam received two awards this year in first grade--
A HONOR ROLL!
MOST DETERMINED!  This is absolutely true on so many different levels.  :)
During the second part of the ceremony, Mrs. Fields gave each student a hug and delivered them to their second grade teacher, Mrs. Witt.  We're so proud of our little man.  It's been such an incredible year for Liam.  His class of close friends and a loving teacher is such a safe and nurturing place for knowledge to take root.  He is reading chapter books, memorized countless verses and Bible passages, can tell time, rockin' math problems, learning to write cursive like a pro, and so much more. Mrs. Fields has been an amazing blessing.  We are so thankful for the unbelievable people that surround our children every day at Sloan School.

The Color of Your Love

Our church, First Baptist Irving, had the children's musical tonight.  The teachers and kiddos have been working hard every Wednesday night since January to make this extra special, and I think they did terrific.  The 1st and 2nd graders put on a performance called, "The Color of Your Love."  Liam had a solo on a song called, "I Love You."  I think stage fright is officially over for him. :-)
Here's Liam singing his solo:

Green Thumbs

My girls love to get their hands dirty.  And I love letting them.  They are turning into little green thumbs and do a pretty great job helping me plant flowers.

Celebrating Motherhood

Today was a day for celebrating moms...For me that included a special breakfast made my my babies and their Daddy, sweet homemade gifts, calling my amazing Mom sending wishes her way, listening to my 4-years-olds sing a special Mother's Day song in church this morning, a tea party at church the kids, no cooking or cleaning all day, and then having a family dinner at Nana and Papa's house.   It was a pretty spectacular day!

Texas Bluebonnets 2015

These are about a month late, but here are pictures from our annual  Bluebonnet Picture Fest with friends.  Thanks to Rick Smith for taking the best pictures in this batch.
And I really love these of the girls just doing what they do--being silly and crazy!
