I have been looking forward to this weekend for over month when one of my oldest and dearest friends and former roommate, Marybeth, bought tickets to come Dallas for a girls' weekend with Michele, Erika, and me. And, oh how I needed this time with these cherished, authentic friends. We started at one of our old faithfuls for dinner, Via Real.
Around ten, we found ourselves strolling into the King Spa and Sauna, a 24-hour, Korean spa filled with nine "unique healing sauna rooms, acupressure massage for body and foot and movie
theatre." It was completely bizarre and amazingly wonderful. After our 11:00 appointments for foot messages, and Erika's acupressure session, we left in the wee hours of the morning feeling completely relaxed and de-stressed. Then we capped off the night by getting lost in conversation as we lounged around Erika's living room while the rest of the world was asleep...well, except for the spa and sauna seekers who were still hanging out at King.
Love you ladies, and I can't wait for our next girls' weekend in the fall!

Weekending in Dallas
My Aunt Peggy came to visit last weekend, and I became a tourist in my own town as we took the Dallas Trolley Tour. It showcased many of the Dallas points of interst , and provided some inside information on new restaurants for Jon and me to try on our next date night. Before the tour, we had a little history lesson at the Sixth Floor Museum (AKA book depository where Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK in 1963). After the tour, we had a late lunch at a Texas BBQ original, Sonny Bryant's.
On Sunday noon before Peggy left for the airport, we met the Dallas Martin cousins for lunch at iFratelli. It was a relaxing weekend of sightseeing and spending time with family.

Blue Bonnet Pics by Rick
When our friends, the Smiths, suggested we take the kids to a blue bonnet patch just up the road from our neighborhood a couple of weeks ago to snap a few pictures, I wasn't expecting professional-grade photos. But, Rick used his ninja photography skills and borrowed a fancy lens , and behold...the best blue bonnet pictures this bunch has ever had. Rick took every single one of these pictures, and I love them all. Thanks Holly and Rick!

Birthday@Babes
Although we had Liam's birthday party on Saturday, it was my actual birthday. A Star Wars party is great and all, but after Liam's t-ball game, I opted for dinner at Babes to celebrate. The very best part is that most of my family filled the long table, and with them there is always happy chatter, laughter, and love. Babes chicken was as fantastic as ever. And, I wore a chicken hat. And, I did the Chicken Dance. They did the Hokey-Pokey. I blew out a candle that was stuck in a biscuit. It was great.

Liam's SW Birthday Party: Before
Liam is kind of a little bit obsessed with Star Wars at the moment, so this year's birthday party had a galactic theme. Here are some pictures of the party prior to the party animals arriving.
I ordered most of the printables from Simon Made It, and just tweaked them a little to fit my needs.
Williams-Sonoma had the Chewbacca cookie cutter.
The invitations came from Shutterfly.
I made the stickers for the fruit cups and Yoda soda, and Jon drew the Yoda table decorations.
