Debby, Jeff, and Avonlea came through Irving on their way back to Houston after spending almost all of July in Minnesota. I'm jealous. No Minnesota for the Bushwars this summer, but we'll definitely make up for it next year. Anyway, they dropped off my Mom on the way through, and it's been absolutely great having her here. Liam and the girls are getting spoiled and loving every minute of Grandma's visit.

Visitors
During the past couple of months, we've had lot of visits from lots of friends and family, and it's been great. In fact, in the past two months, all my dearest friends--Marybeth, Veronica, Donna, and Michele--have been here at some point. And it's not over yet. My Mom is coming to stay with us for the next week and a half, and my sister, brother-in-law, and niece will be coming through, too. I can't wait to see them. I just wish all these people I love lived closer! This past weekend, our friend Mike came to visit, and I just had to post these pictures of the boys holding the babies. Gotta love men who love babies.

Out and About
For the past five weeks, we've limited where we've taken the girls. Besides the fact that it is quite a production to get a toddler and two newborns ready to go anywhere, the girls were so tiny, I really wanted to stay close to home. I'm happy to say that our time of confinement is over. The five of us are officially out and about. Yesterday we all went to the mall...it was actually the girl's second trip to the mall. I'm happy to report, they both love to shop, so Daddy better watch out. This morning we went to the petting zoo and then picked up some cupcakes at Sprinkles. Yummy! It was a great way to spend a summer day.

Hands Full
As expected, things around our household are a little crazy these days. We spend lots of time sitting on the couch feeding babies, changing diapers, and trying to entertain a busy two year old. For us, the key for making a day run smoothly is keeping the girls on the same schedule. When that happens, we get more sleep, and more sleep makes everyon happier. So, here's to sleep! May we all rest well tonight.
This picture really shows what life is like around the Bushwars right now. We love every minute, but let me tell you, the minutes are never dull.
Liam has been in the pool quite a bit lately. Wouldn't you if you had this awesome fighter jet to float around on?

One Month
The girls are already a month old today, so we took them in for their check-up. Both are doing great!
Ellery weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and is 20 inches long now. That's pretty good, considering she was only 5 pounds, 3 ounces two weeks ago. She trying hard to catch up to her sister, so Marin better watch out!
Marin weighed 9 pounds and was 20 1/4 inches long. Two weeks ago, she was 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Yes, she is a very good eater. Way to go,little big Marin!

July 4th
We had a pretty low-key 4th of July this year. On Saturday night, Jon and I (along with the twins) watched the Irving fireworks from our bedroom window. On Sunday, we went to visit Jon's grandparents and then headed over to his parents to hang out for a while. That night, the girls stayed with Jon's grandparents, and Jon and I walked across the street with Liam to watch the fireworks from the Four Seasons. It was nice to spend some time with Liam. He loved the fireworks, and we sat next to a group of college students who serenaded us with patriotic songs. They were actually pretty good, and Liam loved to clap like crazy for them.
