True Confessions: BATHS

Our kids haven't stepped foot in a bath tub almost all summer.  And it's been wonderful and saves so much time and energy.  Here's how we've pulled it off...
The kids are in the pool A LOT during the summer months.  So after dinner, they usually go for an evening swim.  When they get out of the water, we take rinsing off to the max.  We've kind of rigged up our own little showering system outside with a garden hose.  Here's how it works:
1.  Separate girls from boy.
2.  Subtract swim suits.
3.  Add water from the hose, shampoo, soap, and a washcloth.
Viola!  No baths during the summer for the Bushwar kids.  And because it is all done outside, there is absolutely no mess to clean up afterwards.  No puddles on the bathroom floor.  No bubbles on the lid of the toilet.  No toys to drain of residual water.  And it saves water.  And we water the grass at the same time. It's a wonderful thing all around.  Now that we're at the end of the season, I'm  so sad to say good-bye to our summer showers.  But on second thought, we do live in Texas, so we'll probably be able to enjoy at least another month of our outdoor baths.

1st and Pre-K

The first week of school was a success for our little loves.  We started Monday off with a Back to School special breakfast.
And then some pictures before Jon and I took them to school.
Like Liam, the girls have Miss Katie for Pre-K.  They were both excited to be there and got busy coloring right away.
Liam has a teacher who is new to Sloan this year, Mrs. Fields.  He had so much fun and loves school.
We're so thankful for such a positive start to the 2014-2015 school year!

Summer's Last Chapter

The summer is over for us.  It was the best one yet.  I say that every year, but every year it's true.  The last few weeks, we've been busy squeezing in as many fun activities as possible.
The circus.  Trips to the farmers market.  Spray parks.  A marionette show.  Scooter-riding.  Spending time with friends.  Lots of swimming.  Movie-going.  Sleep-overs.  Morning donuts.  Doctor and dentist appointments.  Okay, maybe that's not technically fun, but it must be done.
Not really that much fun...but necessary.  :)
