A Fun Field Day

It was Field Day at the Sloan School yesterday, and I was so happy that I was able to spend the day helping and watching all the fun.
I sneaked in Ms. Erin room and kidnapped the girls for snow cones in the morning.  Kona Ice is kind of our latest snack obsession...
The sack race, 3-legged race, hanging resistance, egg race, and relay race were the events that Liam like the best.
In the end, he won five ribbons for competitive events and one for participation.

Celebrating Easter!

After celebrating our Risen Savior at church on Easter Sunday, we spent the rest of the day hunting more eggs, eating lunch, and spending time with family at Nana and Papa's house.

SomeBUNNY Visited!

The Easter Bunny hopped his way into our living room on Sunday morning!

Easter Eggs

Our church, First Baptist Irving, has the best Easter Egg Hunt around.  Here are the kids at Easter Eggstravaganza loving every chocolate-filled minute.
The kids know that this is a tradition.  If we didn't find time to squeeze it in (even at 8:00 on the Saturday night before Easter Sunday), there would have been three little disappointed faces at bedtime.
I love these cut-out cookies, so anytime I have an excuse to make them, I do!

Baseball Game Turned Party

Liam's birthday party at the Rangers game was such a super simple gathering to put together, and I think he liked it even more than last year's Star Wars bash...which was a lot of work.  :)
We sat way up at the tippy top of the stadium.  That's what happens when you need 32 tickets, it's a holiday weekend (Good Friday night), and the weather is absolutely perfect.

Since fans can bring food and drinks into the ballpark, we took full advantage of this and made each kiddo a "Rangers Snack Pack," which consisted of a hotdog, peanuts (in a plastic souvenir cup from Walmart), chips, Twizzlers, and a large juice.
At the end of the night, Liam gave each friend a Rangers paddle ball as a little thanks-for-coming gift. I found these at Party City.
For a small fee ($20), you can have a name included in the birthday recognitions on the center field video board.  It was totally worth it because, not only did Liam see his name on the big screen, the Six Shooters (Ranger gals) also came to our seats to wish Liam a happy birthday and give him a birthday button.
And the perfect way to end the party was a Rangers win and a fireworks display!
